Which kind of assessment was most difficult to create? Why?
The most difficult assessment is going to be the Question Based Assessment. This is because I will need to be making sure that all of my questions are matching up with the levels and are still relating to my learning targets. That the questions are getting the students to be thinking deeper than just the surface level of the questions. That the information that I am wanting to get across to the students is being done so by the questions.
Which one was most easy? Why?
I think that the performance assessment will be the easiest as I will be able to see what is being done by the students. I will be able to see what they are doing and have my rubric to assess them off of. I will be able to grade the students quickly on whether or not they are meeting the requirements within each section of the rubric that I would have organized for them.
What was something that surprised you about creating assessments?
Nothing necessarily surprised me as I know my weakness is assessments and that these assignments creating the assessment and rubrics is going to be a challenge for me. I am expecting it to take me a decent amount of time to produce quality assessments and rubrics as I struggle with this area.

Lesson Planning
What part of planning is coming easy to you? What part is not as intuitive for you? Explain.
For me the parts that are coming easy to me are the instruction and introduction. Though I understand that my methods can still be fine tuned and improved. It is simply the parts that are coming easier for me. This is because I am able to envision the students coming into the gym and how I would want that to look. I can think about of how I want to instruct the students and am able to picture how I think the best way would be to do that. Again with the understanding that my thought process may not be the most effective, but for what I can see at the time and without any or very little practical application, it is what I am able to come up with.
The part that I am struggling with or lacking intuition on are the assessment portions. Ensuring that I am using the correct assessments, the correct terms for the assessment, conducting the assessment correctly. Making sure that the method I am using is suitable for my learning target. Making sure that I allot enough time for the assessment that I am wanting to implement in my classroom or gym.

Assessments
Types of Assessments:
Selected response
-Pro- This assessment is good when what is being assessed is more cognitive than that of a physical nature.
-Con- This assessment is not meant to accurately measure skills or someone producing something physical.
Extended Written Response
-Pro- This kind of assessment is to be used again in more of the cognitive sense. It allows a deeper understanding of the student's thinking.
-Con- This assessment does not allow an accurate assessment of physical skills.
Performance Assessment
-Pro- This assessment is more for the physical side. It gives a good representation of what can be assessed.
-Con- It does not allow the cognitive functions to be assessed very accurately.
Personal Communication
-Pro- This can allow assessment be applied in various areas as a conversation can be had showing knowledge and understanding of various areas.
-Con- This assessment is not good when a product needs to be produced as there is not much evidence to support it than the conversation itself.
As you begin writing your lesson plan, what role will assessment play?
The assessment will guide me in making sure that my learning target is accurate and matches with the standard that I have chosen. Making sure that my assessment matches my learning target is important because then the accuracy of the assessment is proven and can be trusted once the results are in from the assessment. The assessment I use will also inform me if there are any other materials that I will need in order to perform the assessment of the students. It will inform me of the time that I would need to make available in order to perform the assessment and it will also dictate how I have the class organized to make it so the assessment is as efficient as possible.

Unit 3.6
What part of deriving a learning target was challenging for you?
Just thinking of how best to apply to the standard that I had picked. I wanted to make sure that it would make sense for the students to understand what is being asked of them. I needed to make sure that the learning target would match up with the standard ensuring that what the students were going to learn would cover what is required from the standard.
What connection does the learning target have with assessment?
The more clear that my learning target is, it makes the assessment that much easier. This is because the learning target is clear and concise. So, me discerning whether the students have met that target becomes much easier. Also, if the students were not hitting the learning target, having it be clear as to what it is. Makes it easier for me to see what corrections need to be made by the students or by my instructions.

Unit 2 Blog
For me I think that standards are important. I am looking at is a student and as a parent. As a student I agree that standards are something that I should be held to. This is so that the organization that I am wanting to be a part of or am a part of can visibly see how I am performing. I also think of this when I was in the military. There were standards that were set, and you either met them or you didn't. If you didn't meet the standard, then remedial actions were taken so that you could meet the standard. How I see that being a student is possibly the opportunities to have more open communication to better understand what is being asked of you. As far as not meeting the standard I do not see much remedial action, other than having to retake a course, or pay to take a test to possibly bypass a course.
As a parent I want my daughter held to a standard. Yes I can do what I can to best prepare her for what she needs, but there are research based standards that are established to help give guidance for a child's development. This being the guidance to having the most chances at success in the various areas that we are able to have standards set for.

Unit 1.11
1. What do you know about yourself as a learner?
It takes a lot of repetition for me to learn something, especially when it is not hands on.
2. What has impacted your life as a learner?
The various jobs that I have had, the people that have come into my life. Also the different challenges that I have had to encounter on my journey to getting to my destination of being a teacher.
3. What score category did you get on your mindset quiz?
I got a 60% or an 18, the category was some growth and some fixed ideas.
4. What is the connection between your mindset and your experience as a learner?
My mindset is limited to a point, so therefor what I learn or the rate that I learn at is hindered. This is because I have not allowed myself to be as open minded as I can be to have my learning experience reach its full potential.
5. What steps are you taking to grow your mindset and become the learner that you hope your students will one day be?
I am trying to keep myself better organized so that I have a better idea what is asked of me. I am learning to adapt to a new learning environment so I can still achieve what is being asked of me on a daily basis.
